The Institute of Public Accountants is co-hosting the first ever Australian IFRS Foundation Conference with CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, know also as the Joint Accounting Bodies.
This one day IFRS Foundation conference is being held in Melbourne on 25 November 2011 and will allow delegates exclusive access to the global standard setters to gain in-depth knowledge on the impact of IFRS for the Asia-oceania region. The conference includes a number of highlights:
- Global standard setters taking part in this conference include Hans Hoogervorst, chair of the IASB, and Ian Mackintosh, vice-chair of the IASB, amongst other Board members and a variety of IASB staff.
- A session by the Asian Oceania Standards Setters representatives will discuss financial reporting issues impacting the region.
- Special interest sessions will be held on a topic by topic basis, involving international standard setters as well as preparers, analysts, and practitioners sharing views on the financial reporting issues associated with the topic.
- The eve of the conference provides networking opportunities with standard setters and conference participants, gathered together to hear some views from the top by Mirvac Managing Director, Nick Collishaw.
Register for this event on the Joint Accounting Bodies conference website. The ICAA is handling the registration for this function on behalf of all three professional accounting bodies.
